(Our inn was moved to the present 
location in 1960.)

the present NAKAMURAYA

At the beginning of Taishou era
(In around 1914)

Tasa Nakamura who became the founder of 
NAKAMURAYA RYOKAN was born in 1862. After 
she got married at Muroran, she started a brothel 
with her husband. When her husband had a love 
affair with the prostitute of their brothel, she 
threw the letter of divorce at him, and she moved 
to Sapporo. After she moved to Sapporo, she 
started a boarding house in 1903. It was the start 
of NAKAMURAYA RYOKAN.
